Selected Comics 2003-2008

I have compiled ten stories from the past five years into one tightly packed book.

Most of these are from minicomics that had editions of 30-100. One panel per page has become many panels on each.

Highlights include "Peck", "02/18/04", and "Carmine and Darnell and the Sleepy Creatures".

Darks, Lights & Colors

I sent three drawings to the current show at Pony Club Gallery.

Here is one of the drawings pre-color.

To see the finished drawing, why not visit the gallery?
Pony Club is located at 625 NW Everett #105 Portland, OR.

Why didn't I remember to scan the colored-in version before I mailed it?
*cough* *shifty eyes*

SPX Report

I took an overnight train from Providence to D.C., and saw this sunrise somewhere in Maryland. It gave me hope for the show, which I needed-- because a rattling chair below a PA system is not the same as a bed.

Here is my mountain of books at the start of day one. (Also some prints and books by friend Jean Cozzens).

And here are some foothills of books at the start of day two.

I was tabling by myself. So, I didn't get to circulate as much as I would have liked. I met some nice cartoonists though, like Jesse McManus, Juliacks, and (new fav?) Jillian Tamaki. I wish I could have attended a few panels, although I did get to participate in one.

Anthologies & Apologies

I have been scrambling to get things together for SPX, so I haven't posted in a while. To catch you up, I will be in these two anthologies this fall:

Kramers Ergot 7

An Anthology of Graphic Fiction, Cartoons, and True Stories: Volume 2 (Yale University Press)

* * *

Here is one of my panels from Kramers Ergot 7.

Bonus Trivia:
(1) That body of water is Lake Eerie.
(2) The book I'm reading is "Cruddy" by Lynda Barry.
(3) The squiggles and soft stars indicate feeling like Snowy-on-Loch-Lomond.

My last minicomic got a nice mention in the new issue of Giant Robot.
